Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Hope you all stuffed yourselves. :) Our plans changed last minute and we had thanksgiving here in Nashville with just the three of us. We missed everyone and can't WAIT until Christmas!!! We will epically miss everyone at the Mast gathering on Sunday. Unfortunately this will be our 2nd year not there. I'm very sad about that!!

Things here have been good. We both have been busy at work. I picked up an extra day so I am working Thursday - Saturday at the Spa. Some friends from Church watch Molly Thursday & Friday and Andy watches her on Saturday.

Molly got her first TOOTH! How exciting :) She hasn't been too fussy. Just chewing on everything she can get her hands on. We also started giving her baby food. We haven't been able to get her to eat the rice cereal and she was doing great with vegetables (peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, ect) until we gave her PEARS!! She looooooves pears!! Now we are having a hard time getting her to eat anything else. We'll keep trying :)

This year I did most of my black shopping ONLINE!!! So great! I got most of the same deals and got to stay in my warm cozy home in my warm cozy PAJAMAS!! I hit up target after work tonight and STILL got the deals that I was hoping to get there. I don't think i will ever leave the house on black friday again!!

Here are a few recent pics. They are from my phone so a little blurry.

Molly's first tooth!!! Can you see the little thing? :) I couldn't get a picture of it unless she was crying so I pinched her. Just kidding..she hit herself in the head with her toy.

This is what happens when Mommy goes to work and Daddy dresses her. Shes so cute in her 12 MONTH outfit. haha

Our Thanksgiving at Cracker Barrel. Notice the cute shirt :)

Abbis Dedication/Family Visits

Last weekend we enjoyed having Andy's family here for baby Abbigails dedication. Her dedication was beautiful and after hearing Nate's song (that he wrote and sang) I'm pretty sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house!! She looked so pretty in her white dress :) We also got in some quality game playing time while everyone was here! I'm proud to say that i did win one game of Settlers of Catan...Ticket to Ride however is a different story.

After the dedication we went back to Nate & Beccas for yummy chilly lunch!

Headbands

A lot of people have been asking me how i make my baby headbands..the easiest way for me to explain this is with pics..so here goes. (I took these pictures with my phone and they arent very clear)

I get everything I need at Joann Fabrics..
What you need:

Felt
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun
Artificial Flowers
Elastic (i like 1/8 soft stretch baby elastic) Comes in black or white

1. Start by cutting the stems off of the flower.

2. Cut your elastic to size.
0-3 Months - 13"
3-6 Months - 14"
6-12 Months - 15"

3. Cut a circle out of the felt

4. Put some hot glue on the back of your flower.

5. Put the two ends of your elastic in the glue. Make sure its not twisted at all.

6. Cover it with the round piece of felt and hold for about 30 seconds

Finished Product

I prefer the tiny flowers but most flowers will work as long as they are somewhat flat. Sometimes you have to look closely and dig in the flower bins to find the small ones. There are anywhere from 3-10 flowers on a bush usually costing between $2.99 and $5.99..watch for 50% off sales. If you know someone else that has a little girl and wants to make headbands you can always swap flowers..or make extra headbands for gifts. I've seen this headband on etsy costing anywhere from $4-$8.. The elastic cost $2.50 for several yards and the flowers were $2.99 and there were 8 of them on one spray!

This is another headband i made out of felt! So easy! Just cut 3 circles..sew a tiny pearl to the center of the smallest one and glue them all together. I think i found the little pearls in the jewelry making isle for a couple bucks for 50!

Some bling also adds a nice touch too :) I found a bag of small rhinestones close to the scrapbooking isle.

A few of my headbands...just to give you some ideas

This is a fabric headband that i LOVE! Here is a link on how to make them:

In August we took a trip to Pennsylvania! Molly got to meet lots of people and we had a wonderful time!! Its always great to go home and smell the fresh mountain air..mixed with cow poo. :) Good ol' farm. We had a great time at the cabin with the Yoder family! Corn hole, 4 wheelers, and mountain pies!! Nothing is better!
